The launch of Sri Lanka the Cookbook by
Prakash Sivanathan and Niranjala Ellawala
Friday 12th May 2017 at Books for Cooks in London's Notting Hill
Friday 12th May: on a balmy evening in West London just off the world-famous Portobello Road, chefs Prakash Sivanathan and Niranjala Ellawala welcomed family, friends, colleagues and journalists to Books for Cooks for the launch of Sri Lanka the Cookbook published by Frances Lincoln.

In a packed bookshop Prakash and Niranjala mingled with more than fifty guests who feasted on a taster menu of recipes selected from Sri Lanka the Cookbook including Ulundu Vadai, Parrippu Vadai, tuna and vegetable cutlets, and lamb or vegetable rolls.

Prakash thanked all those involved with the production of his stunning book, including the photographer Kim Lightbody and stylist Alexander Breeze who have made the glorious food and landscapes of Sri Lanka come alive on the page. He also reminded his audience that the book was a celebration of his home country's food inspired by the couple's eight years running award-winning Sri Lankan restaurant Elephant Walk in North London.
