The Sri Lankan Football Organization UK Donates
Football Equipment to the Matara Football League Of Sri Lanka

On the 14th September 2017, the Sri Lankan Football Organization, UK (SLFO-UK) donated football equipment to the Matara City Football League of Sri Lanka at the Matara Uyanwttha football Ground, Sri Lanka.

The chief guest at the donation ceremony at the Matara Uyanwttha football Grounds was the Sri Lanka Football Federation Youth Development Director, Mr. Chaminda Steinwall and Mr. Ranjith Katuwana from the SLFO-UK.

Other guests present on the occasion. The Matara Football League Secretary Mr Indika Thenuwara, the Coaches of the League, Mr.K.D Lalith(National player)and Mr Anthany Brayan Werappuli, and 75 to 100 youth football players with Matara Disabled and Mental football team players also participated at the ceremony. The Matara Football League was established in 1960. This is the first time we(SLFOUK) supported disabled and mental football team it was very emotional moment and we will continue to support them in the future.

This is the Eight such donation of football equipment by the Sri Lankan Football Organization, UK to a football League in Sri Lanka in order to aid youth football development, especially in the rural areas of Sri Lanka. We commenced donating football equipment to improve youth football in the rural areas of Sri Lanka in 2011, with welcome and crucial support from football enthusiasts resident here in the UK. Past donations took place in Polonnaruwa, Badulla, Anuradhapura, Jaffna, Mannar,Hatton, and to the Saunders Football Club in Sri Lanka.

We would like to thank our greatest supporter and definitely the best travel company catering to the Sri Lankan community here in the UK, Duke Court Travel and Director Mr Anuradha Mudaleage, Our Great Football supporter Tillmax Director Mr Ranjeewa Alahakon, all SLFO - UK members, Friends and Family's in making this endeavour a great success.
