SRI LANKA CHRISTIAN ASSOCIATION
Touching The Lives Of The Poor
30 years have passed and by the Grace Of God has enabled the SLCA to touched the lives of thousands of children who are orphaned and displaced, the poor, the old, the disabled and the destitiute. What a privilege it has been, and what an achievement for a band of members who gave their best to have done the impossible with all the obstacles. SLCA are proud of all the events they have done, which has entertained, thousands of people, also events that no one else has done like the "Miss Sri Lanka Contest", The young teen ager contest, Talent Shows, The first ever open air talent show at the "Festival Of Cricket" in 1989. The first ever "Christmas Carol Service" with a trained choir as of 1986. Our 30 year "Christmas Carol Service" was high profiled, and held at the Holiday Inn. Thanks to Shiran And Manoja who conducted the choir.

The achievements of the SLCA are beyond compare, In 1986 Charmaine Jayatilleke MBE introduced the first ever "Christmas Carol Service" trained by the famous Radio Ceylon Compere Chris Greet and Deanna. This year was a "Carol Service" with a difference, followed by a fabulous lunch. Channa de Zoysa made sure that the 30 years was celebrated in style.

SLCA was able to have such High profile Events, due to people like Chris and Deanna Greet and Charmaine Jayatilleke MBE of Broadcasting fame at Radio Ceylon. SLCA thankful to their membership for keeping the SLCA alive in the past 30 years, and we could continue this noble work like setting up the "first Braille Library" sending the First "Vaddha Boy" to University, setting up trade centre for Leprosy inmates to earn a living, the first Sewing Centre in Moratuwa, Sri Lanka, the first ever Candle Making Factory in Embuldeniya in Sri Lanka, and many more.

Please "Help SLCA" to educate a child and give them a future, so, as to be a pride to our "Mother Land" Sri Lanka.
