SRI LANKA CHRISTIAN ASSOCIATION
31 YEARS OF SERVING THE LESS FORTUNATE
The crowning glory of the Sri Lanka Christian Association (SLCA) has been the journey of love, compassion and caring to the less fortunate. Looking back at the SLCA in its 31st year, by the grace of God, it has been able to touch the lives of the poor, the disabled, the orphans and the destitute by consistently serving the under privileged.

Rather than simply offering financial assistance to make ends meet in the short term, the Sri Lanka Christian Association offers a future to those who are less fortunate by facilitating the learning of a trade or the acquisition of a skill such as sewing, embroidery, knitting, weaving, crocheting, candle making - which has become a very sort after skill.

The main beneficiary of the SLCA's charitable fundraising activities at the moment is the Kandy Cancer Hospital. The SLCA was the first to offer financial assistance to the Thalassaemia Hospital to improve the Children’s Ward. These noble deeds keep the good name of the Sri Lanka Christian Association alive, which in turn gives hope to the patients of these hospitals.

The SLCA built the first ever Braille library in Sri Lanka.

The SLCA sent the first ever Vedda youth to university.

The SLCA helped brake barriers when it assisted those who suffer from Leprosy, a decease that has stigmatised its sufferers, shunning them from society. Today they are accepted in society, and having learnt a trade, they live in dignity.

The committee, past and present, and the friends of the Sri Lanka Christian Association thank God for its 31 years of serving the poor nationwide, by helping to build these hospitals and by helping the poor and needy in their times of suffering.
