Sampath Bank Hosts Investor Forum in London
Sampath Bank hosted pre-eminent members of the Sri Lankan expatriate community working and living in the United Kingdom (UK) at an exclusive Investor Forum held at the Grange St. Paul's Hotel, London, recently.

Mr. Nanda Fernando, Managing Director (MD), Sampath Bank PLC along with other senior officials from the Bank and Ex-Sampath Bankers hosted the distinguished invitees at this glamorous forum.

Delivering the key note address of the evening, Mr. Fernando apprised the invitees of how the Bank had continued to deliver the record growth and strong performance in recent times, despite the challenges faced by the market.

Sampath Bank had registered post-tax profits of Rs. 3.3 billion for the quarter ended 31st March 2018, a record 41.4% growth over the same period in 2017. Net Interest Income (NII), which represents over 70% of the Bank's total operating income, stood at Rs. 8.3 billion, growing by 31% year-on-year (YoY). Total asset base stood at Rs. 846 billion at the end of the quarter, a YOY growth of 6.5%.

Updating them on Sampath Bank's inclusion to the Morgan Stanley Capital International (MSCI) Frontier Market 100 Index, as of May 2018, he underscored the fact that the Bank was the only Sri Lankan company in the Index.

Mr. Fernando touched on the ways in which Sampath Bank continues to reach out and add value to Sri Lankans working and living in the UK and around the world. He went on to illustrate how, being cognisant of their efforts, the Bank has always strived to help them secure greater returns for their hard earned money while giving them more ways to support their families and our motherland.

He shed light on the multitude of financial solutions from Sampath Bank that are tailor made to suit their needs. Some of these include Foreign Currency Accounts that offer attractive returns as well as safety and flexibility, foreign currency and Sri Lankan Rupee Investment Accounts with unmatched rates, Fixed Deposits that provide safety and attractive interest rates and easy to obtain Housing Loans with flexible repayment terms.

Members of the audience posed their queries on investment opportunities in Sri Lanka as well as the Bank's suite of related products and services to Mr. Fernando and other Sampath Bank representatives. They also engaged with Mr. Fernando on a one-to-one basis on how Sampath Bank could serve as their trusted financial partner and help them grow their wealth. The forum was followed by an evening of fellowship and refreshments.

The event was held alongside the Festival of Cricket 2018 held at the Hainault Recreation Ground in Essex. Sampath Bank was the official Banking Partner for the tournament - the 30th edition of the annual cricketing encounter of Sri Lankan Old Boys' Associations (OBAs) in the UK.
