GMBC Greater Manchester Buddhist Convention
https://manchesterbuddhistconvention.wordpress.com/

GMBC was founded by Venerable Piyatissa the Head of Ketumati Buddhist Vihara Manchester as an inter-lineage network of Buddhist organisations in the North West of England. An annual Conference has been held since 2005, initially in different venues but since 2011 at St Peter's Chaplaincy.

The GMBC website states:
"Aim: The GMBC aims to increase dialogue and engagement between different Buddhist schools and welcomes other interested people or groups to work together to increase compassion and understanding in our society.
Method: The GMBC will do this, primarily, by organising an annual event to share Dharma/Dhamma and practice; discuss current issues and possible actions."

GMBC 2017 was held on 14th October at St Peter's House Manchester. St Peter's House currently coordinates the multi-faith chaplaincy provision across the Universities. The theme was Navigating Life, Awakening to Peace.
