GENEVA INTERNATIONAL BUDDHIST VIHARA CELEBRATES WESAK IN A GRAND SCALE
Geneva International Buddhist Vihara celebrated this year's Wesak in a grand scale with three separate programmes. On the 29th April a day long religious programme was organised with the participation of Sri Lankan devotees. Programme included Buddha Wandana, Dhana, Meditation, Dhamma Sermons and Dhamma discussions. On Sunday May 6th International Wesak Festival was held with devotees from Switzerland as well as Sri Lanka, Thailand, Laos, Cambodia, Vietnam and France who are now residing in Switzerland taking part.

On May 27th, a special programme was arranged for Swiss nationals. All day activities were presented using French language. On this occasion many devotees wearing the traditional Sil costume "Uthuru Saluwa" observed Atasil.

R.D.S. Kumararatne, Ambassador & Permanent Representative of Sri Lanka to the World Trade Organisation in Geneva, Mrs. Kumararatne and a large number of devotees attended. Head of Geneva International Buddhist Vihara Ven. Dr. Thawalama Dhammika Thero, Ven. Halvitigala Sujatha Thero, Ven. Lakshana Thero of Geneva and Sen Bhikshuni Mujin Sunim participated in this program.

Many Sri Lankan and Asian Buddhists were involved in helping in many a way to make this year's Wesak programme a great success.
