The British Sri Lankan Association (BRISLA) who is helping to build closer relationships between UK and Sri Lankan communities would like to remind residents in the UK and Sri Lanka, there is still time to enter this year's BRISLA Awards.

Dr Zimar Sivardeen, chairman of BRISLA - a not-for-profit organisation whose mission is to facilitate co-operation between the UK and Sri Lanka on trade and investments, health, education and in sustainable development.

The organisation is due to host its third annual awards ceremony, which will recognise individuals and businesses that have striven to enhance the lives of people in the UK and Sri Lanka.

The event will take place on Saturday 14th October 2017 in the opulent setting of the Long Room at Lord's Cricket Ground, the heart of cricket's grandest clubhouse. Entrants and special guests including Lord Popat and former England cricketers Geoff Miller OBE and Mike Gatting OBE will join the Master of Ceremonies, Mark Jones.

Dr Sivardeen says: "The BRISLA Awards continue to go from strength-to-strength and we are aiming to make this year's ceremony the biggest one yet."

"We are encouraging residents to send in as many entries as possible to help us celebrate the multitude of ways people have shown their support for both the UK and Sri Lankan communities."
