8 year old, Brakatha Niranjan, performs Arangetram Salangai Poojai
Aradhana School of Dance Founder and Principal, Shrimathy. Sujanthinee Maheswaran, from Ilford Redbridge, made history with her student Ms. Brakatha who performed Arangetram Salangai Poojai.

Shrimathy has been training her pupil from the age of 4 to be a Master in Dance. It was a big challenge both the Guru and student Brakatha.

Guru and her parents still remember Brakatha coming to the dance class with her feeding bottle and sleeping in her chair during classes.

Brakathas' parents brought a Stone and the Guru, Sujanthinee, carved that stone into a beautiful statute.

No one in history, within Europe, has done such a performance at the age of 8, equal to an adult Indian dance graduate performing at the age of 21.

Ms. Brakatha's name will go in to the Guinness Book of Records and many dance history books for this performance.

Mrs. Sujanthini i Maheswaran, Rising Star Guru (teacher), has been training many children in East London. She is a student of Smt. Pathmini Nadarajah Selventhiran and both are from "Gods Own Golden Village of Urumparai".

Aradha School of Dance has made Ms. Brakatha famous among the European Sri Lankan Community. Brakatha is a wonderful and amazing dancer. She was an excellent dancer and performed like an adult in front of a 400 specially invited guest’s at the Barking Theatre. Special guests for the evening were Mayor of Redbridge, Cllr. Gurdial Bhamra and Vice Chair of Newham Council, Cllr. Paul Sathianesan.

Brakatha is an Intelligent child and remembered all the Music and Steps as she was trained to by her Guru. She performed beautifully and non-stop. She entertained the audience for almost 3 hours. Her attitude of dedication, passion, commitment to dance and hard work has proven that she is a really amazing student.
'She is our asset and a role model for many children' said Mayor Bhamra. Cllr. Sathianesan said 'she is a rising star of Sri Lanka and a gift of God to the UK.'

Cllr. Sathianesan was so impressed by Brakatha that he gave her the highest honour and real blessing by giving his own long shawl to her.
